Konzept der Destination

The tourist destination of Regensburg is following a sustainable path to ensure and develop its contribution to the well-being of humanity.

The 2030 Agenda, with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), is a global plan to promote sustainable peace and prosperity and protect our planet. Since 2016, all countries have been working to translate this shared vision for fighting poverty and reducing inequality into national development plans. It's particularly important to address the needs and priorities of the most vulnerable populations and countries – because only if no one is left behind can the 17 goals be achieved by 2030. For us, sustainability means equal consideration of economy, ecology, and social issues, in the sense of responsible, economical, and careful use of natural resources. All stakeholders are included in the process. The UNESCO World Heritage Site, as the heritage of humanity, is the focus here.

The path to becoming a sustainable company is a series of small steps. The sustainable path always remains a path without end. There is no arriving, because there's always something to improve!

Destination management organization Regensburg Tourismus GmbH (RTG) sees itself as an initiator and organizer for Regensburg as a destination, as well as providing impetus as a competent partner.
