Altstadthotel Arch
The Altstadthotel Arch is a historic hotel in the heart of Regensburg.
The building dates back to the 12th century. In the 18th century, the “Arch” belonged to the Gumpelzhaimers, a Regensburg patrician family. For over 20 years, guests have been experiencing history up close here.
The name “Arch” has been familiar in Regensburg for centuries and reflects the long tradition of house names in the Old Town. Its exact origin is not entirely clear: one interpretation sees a resemblance to the bow of a ship, while another traces the term back to a historic riverbank fortification.
During the extensive renovation, great importance was placed on preserving the historic fabric of the building. The 89 rooms combine antiques and thoughtful details with modern comfort. High-quality textiles and warm lighting concepts create a special atmosphere.
In 2023, new rooms were added, featuring a minimalist design, natural materials, and a modern color scheme. Historical photo prints bridge the gap to the past and lend the rooms a unique charm.
In the morning, you can enjoy breakfast in the renovated breakfast room with Gothic pointed arches and a view of Haidplatz.
